‘On The Horizon’
Building Home Through Sound

On the Horizon was a live sketch-painting performance for Home Radio and Brixton Radio’s ‘Frontlines’ show. The piece was developed in response to a live DJ set and conversation between Shari Soul, Gabriel Dedji & Aniefiok Ekpoudom, author of Where We Come From.

Influenced by the jungle rhtythms, spoken reflections and communal exchange, the work explored sound, mark making and figuration as sutes of memory, resistance and diasporic connection. The resolved piece later became tge foregrounding work for Ember & Ether: Studies In Transformation (2026), extending the project’s ongoing interest in atmosphere, movement and material translation.
